Altar Servers

Just as Jesus asked his disciples to prepare the sacred meal of passover, so acolytes are called upon in the Church to assist at the sacred liturgy of the Mass which is also the Lord’s Supper - Mt 26:17-19

Those who are 4th grade and above may serve Mass at Christ the King. In order to serve you must be attending Mass on all Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation to show your commitment to the importance of Mass. The priest acts in the person of Christ in the liturgy and needs your help to fulfill this sacred role entrusted to him. Call the church office, 273-0710, for details.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Your willingness to serve as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, reflects not only response to your Baptismal call to serve the people of God, but a commitment to Christ as you share in the preaching, teaching and leading aspects of the church. You offer the Eucharist, recognize the Body of Christ in those to whom you offer Eucharist and ultimately you act as the Body of Christ by fully participating in the life of the parish and the wider community. Your willingness to commit to a monthly schedule, to prepare properly for your service reflects that commitment.

God bless your efforts!

Indeed, the word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating even between soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to discern reflections and thoughts of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

The proclamation of the Word bring uniqueness and great meaning to each individual Catholic liturgy. The readings are carefully selected by the Church for her liturgies, and must be proclaimed with great zeal and effectiveness, for the spiritual good of the faithful depends upon hearing the Word. The homilist for the day will also depend greatly on the lectors to proclaim the word in such a way that he can refer to the scriptures with confidence.
