A baptismal prep class is offered once a month at 10:00 am on the first Sunday of the month. This class is held in St. John Paul II Room. This class is required for the first child. Please be sure to call the parish office to register for the class so we have enough of the necessary information and materials for the class.
Baptisms are celebrated after the 11:00 am Mass on the first and third Sundays of the month.
When a child or an adult is to be baptized, he or she must have at least one godparent. It is customary for children to have two godparents. When there are two, one must be male and the other female.
At Least One Godparent must:
(a) Be Catholic
(b) Have been baptized, confirmed and have received First Communion
(c) Be 16 or older
(d) Be an active, registered member of a Roman Catholic parish
If you have other specific questions regarding godparents or baptisms, please call the parish office.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For by this sacrament, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit.
Confirmation is typically administered by the Archbishop in early spring for eighth grade students. This confirmation class consists of eighth grade Christ the King School and Religious Education students. Students in Religious Education must attend Religious Education in seventh and eighth grades to be confirmed in eighth grade. High school students through adults that desire to be confirmed need to attend RCIC or RCIA classes.
Please call Christ the King BEFORE you book a date with your reception venue or hotel as our date availability for weddings fills up quickly and we might not have the date you are looking for. Marriage preparation begins with an initial consult with a parish priest. Dates are set after that initial interview. Please allow at least 6 months for marriage preparation. Christ the King weddings are celebrated Friday evenings between 5 and 8 pm or Saturday afternoons at 1:30 pm. Please contact the Father Matthew or Father Zarse at (785) 273.0710 when planning a marriage.
