Time & Talent

There are many opportunities within our parish for you to share your time and talent in prayer and service. The following are brief descriptions of the parish ministries and contact information. Time and Talent forms are filled out every year during the Stewardship Drive. The ministry coordinators will be informed of your interest and will follow up with you to answer any questions.

Prayer

Arts & Environment: Assist in decorating the worship space to reflect the seasons of the liturgical year. Those with talent
in art, interior design, floral arrangements or sewing are encouraged to volunteer. Contact 

Altar Server Adult & Youth: Assist the celebrant at Mass for those 5th grade and above. Schedule a training session by calling the church office, 273-0710.

Eucharistic Minister: Parishioners that distribute Holy Communion at Masses. Contact Carol Hamilton, 478-2228.

Lector: Proclaim the Word of God at Sunday Masses and special celebrations. Contact Brenda Zimmerman at zimmermans@bhhsfirst realtors.com.

Music: Contact 

Cantor: Lead the congregation to relay the Word of God through song.
Adult Choir: Members help lead the assembly with their gift of harmonies and choral singing.
High School Choir: High School youth join their voices in praise.
Youth Choir: Grades 4th through 8th lead the church in song.
Handbells: Members provide music for worship; must be able to read music.
Instrumentalist: Play various instruments to accompany at weekend and special masses.
Organist/Pianist: Provide musical accompaniment for cantor at weekend and special masses.

Perpetual Adoration: Adoration is a ministry to pray before the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  
Sign up for a regular hour or as a substitute for silent prayer and adoration. Contact Stan & Maxine Wiechert, 478-3849.

Rosary League: Members try to say a five decade Rosary each day. In addition, members pray the Rosary on Mary's special
feasts. Volunteers also needed to help weed and maintain the garden area. Contact Mary Franz, 478-1015.

Sacristan: Preparation and care of vessels before and after Mass. Contact Deb Frost, 273-0710.

St. Monica Ministry: Join parishioners on the second Saturday each month at 7:30 am for a rosary and novena prayers with an 8 am Mass to follow. Saint Monica Ministry is a devotion promoting prayer for the return to the Catholic faith of family members and friends. Contact: Annie Lackey, 554-7875 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Usher: Assist in seating the assembly and taking up the collection. For 4:30 pm, 9 & 11 am Masses contact Bud Mosher at 478-0707, for the 7:30 am Mass contact Frank Smith at 862-8880.

Conversion Committee: Advisory leadership that will help pastor discuss ways to help our parish go deeper in prayer. Contact needed.

Service

Catholic Charities Food Drive: Assist with handing out grocery bags and collecting donations for drive. Contact Fred Biesemeyer, 478-3147.

Community Volunteer: Join the many volunteers in the community that help through Doorstep, Eucharistic Minister at hospitals, etc. New volunteers can call the church office, 273-0710.

Funeral Luncheon-Bring Food: Prepare salads or desserts for funeral luncheon. Contact Mary Taylor at 272-1335 to bring salads;
Marci Ross at 478-0227 for cookies or brownies.

Funeral Luncheon-Work: Prepare and serve a light lunch after Mass or service for family and friends to gather. Contact Dolores Engel, 272-5256.

Let's Help Meal: Assist with preparing and serving a meal once a month. Contact Patsy Rush at 271-5936 or Linda Mehrtens, 256-2192. 

Nursing Home/Visit Homebound: Visit a nursing home in our community or a homebound parishioner. Call the church office, 273-0710.

Provide Transportation: Assist with transportation of those needing a ride to Mass. Contact the church office, 273-0710.

Faith Formation

CTK EEC Volunteer: Volunteers help in various ways in the Early Ed Center. Virtus training required to volunteer in the classroom. For helping in the EEC, contact Dawn Brown at 272-2999.

 CTK School Volunteer: Volunteers help in various ways at CTK School. Virtus training required to volunteer in the classroom. For helping at CTK School, contact Relynn Reynoso at 272-2220.

Marriage Prep Lead Couple: Meet with engaged couples and lead them through the Marriage Prep Program. Help mentor them as they prepare for the vocation of marriage. RCIA Sponsor/Teacher: Sponsor: Adults willing to accompany RCIA candidates to weekly sessions and provide spiritual support for the candidate. Religious Education: Volunteers help teach students grades K-8. Those that cannot teach every week could volunteer as a substitute or be a classroom aide. Virtus training required to all who volunteer in the classroom. Contact Deb Frost, 273-0710.

Evangelization

Men's Group: That Man is You: An interactive, multimedia men's program focused upon the development of authentic male leadership. Contact Everett Spellman, 271-1495.

Stewardship

Parish Council: Advisory Council serving 3 year terms appointed by pastor. Contact Greg Schwerdt at 273-0696.

Welcome New Members: Assist with the registration of new parishioners and reach out to our newcomers to introduce them to Christ the King. Contact Chris Henderson, 273-0710.

Parish Life

Boy Scouts: A program for male youth that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participative citizenship, and develops personal fitness. Contact Rick Peat, 478-0103.

Christ the King Sunday: (formerly called Fall Festival) Our annual celebration is held in November on the Feast of Christ the King. Fall Festival will be combined with Rome Sweet Home for our parish celebration. Contact the church office, 273-0710.

Clean Freaks: Join a group of parishioners that spend one day a month cleaning our church. Contact Connie Sterbenz, 221-5027.

Daughters of Isabella: A charitable organization of Catholic women founded on the principle of its motto: Unity, Friendship and Charity. Meetings are held the 4th Sunday of the month at Christ the King Church. Contact Mary Rovaris at 478-9358.

Girl Scouts: A program that helps build girls of courage, confidence and character. Call Jennifer Augustine, 215-9657.

Facilities Committee: This ministry helps with maintaining and improving our parish buildings. Contact Tom Flynn at 273-0710.

Food, Hospitality & Social Volunteer: Provide various foods for occasional programs, events and receptions. Contact Kathy Tramp, 273-1109.

Knights of Columbus: A Catholic men's social and service organization dedicated to the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. This ministry meets monthly and is open to all men of the parish. Contact: Sam Ralston at 806-1038.

Landscape Committee & Maintenance: Help beautify the church grounds by landscaping and maintaining garden areas. Coordinator needed.

Office Volunteers: Assist in office answering phone during weekday staff meetings. Call the church office at 273-0710.

Quilters: Join our group most Wednesday mornings collaborating on quilting projects. Call Mary Ann Hoffelmeyer at 478-4082.

Rome Sweet Home: This annual Italian Festival is held in the fall. It includes an outdoor mass, Italian dinner, beer & wine garden, activities for children of all ages and a firework display. Contact DL & Suzy Smith, 272-1572.
