Dear Parishioner:
At the heart of our Catholic faith is Jesus Christ and His offer of salvation through His Death and Resurrection. When we respond to this offer and live intentionally as His disciples, Jesus transforms us by the Holy Spirit. Through love and good works, the Holy Spirit makes us capable of living and loving as Jesus lives and loves. This leads to a sharing of all the many gifts and blessings we have received.
One of the ways we are led by the Spirit to share our blessings is through our financial generosity to our parish. We are invited to adopt a biblical model of tithing. This means giving 5% of our annual income to our parish, 1% to the diocese, and 4% to other charitable causes.
As we look ahead to 2024, I again ask you to prayerfully consider your tithing commitment in support of our parish’s many ministries. To work toward the biblical model, consider increasing your monthly gift by $10-20.
With your support our parish will be able to continue cooperating with Jesus and the Holy Spirit in bearing witness to His Gospel in our daily lives.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Fr. Matthew Schiffelbein
